The Hollywood Musical vs. The Modern Musical

              We all know it, the iconic song and dance number that you know one way or another. Singing in the Rain, the song and the musical in its entirety   defined what it meant to be a movie musical, creating its own standard for what this genre should stand for. We have all seen a movie musical, whether it's a Disney movie, or Hamilton . We have all subjected ourselves to a film with song and dance sprinkled through, but why do we watch the genre and how did we go from 'singing in the rain' to the movie musicals that we have today?                The bright settings, catchy songs, and incredible choreography of  Singing in the Rain  set a standard of what a musical should be. Hey folks! Meet me

 Hello everyone!       My name is Sofia, but you can also call me Sof. I am here to give you my film blog. Why am I making this blog? Mostly because my dear professor, Amy Ongiri, is forcing me to, but also it will allow me to talk about stuff that my friends and family are tired of listening to.  Come with me on this journey of me barely understanding film, and I will attempt to make this as painless and interesting as possible.  This is me lookin' cute in my backyard     I have to tell you about myself, so I'll start with the basics. I'm 21, a senior, a Film major, and I'm from LaPorte, Indiana. Indiana is an incredibly boring place, and with Covid, it's even worse. The most interesting thing to do is scream in a cornfield.
